Pottermore: History of Magic in North America in Multiple Languages

On March 7th, a couple of pages appeared on Pottermore.com with the announcement of new content. It was a surprise that these materials are in several languages. This honor was given to “The History of Magic in North America”.

Stages of adding materials:

  • 8 March 2016. Part 1. The period from the 14th to the 17th century. There is a story about the arrival of wizards from Europe, relations with the local population
  • 9 March 2016. Part 2. Period from the 17th to the 20th century. There is a story about the persecution of the wizarding community and the prerequisites for its self-isolation
  • 10 March 2016. Part 3. “Rappaport Law”. An incident that led to the adoption of a law on the almost complete isolation of wizards is described: it even prohibited friendship and the creation of families with representatives of non-wizards
  • 11 March 2016. Part 4. “Magical America of the 1920s”. The story is brought back to the time of the first film: MACUSA problems and his move to New York, the slang word “Dorcas”, Rappaport’s law is in force, the main manufacturers of wands and their product features are indicated.

This information appears to be intended to heighten interest in the forthcoming Beasts movie due out this November (2016).
