Talking statues of lions in the game “Half-blood Prince”

Lions

One of the interesting moments of the game “Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince” – talking lion statues.
This is an optional task in the game. Complete tasks with statues is necessary to collect a full set of badges.
Many players do not even suspect that you can talk to the lions.

Badges

Statues of talking lions hold shields in front of them, on which a badge is attached. In order for the badge to fall off, you need to do good deeds.
The shields are apparently conjured by the students themselves to hide the badge in them when it is taken away from them. These are student badges, not statues.
Schoolchildren, just like Harry himself, collect, collect these badges, and even buy them in exchange for chocolate frogs. They tell us where they found them – on top of the tower, in the women’s toilet, etc. (only in the Russian version).
They need badges for some kind of rating, only known to them.
The badge is offered initially as a service for a brewed potion.

Statue Activity

Statues are activated only during certain periods of the game and after they give us their badge, they are inactive again. The statue from which we have already taken the badge no longer has a stone shield.
Statues are not active at night , and also if the plot of the game takes place in this location.

A conversation with a statue

To talk to an active statue and find out how to pick up the badge, you need to approach such a lion and press Enter. Somewhere not far from the statue there are always schoolchildren who need to be helped to brew a potion or protect them from the offender.
Although the lions say: “I will give you the badge …”, but they do not give it, but the young wizards who bewitched the lions.
With the statue you can not talk , but immediately deal with the students.

Availability of statues

The first 4 lions with duels become available at the same time. Duels can be conducted in any order, throughout the game.

Tasks with potions are opened sequentially , as new territories are opened at Hogwarts, and it is necessary to brew a potion for each previous statue.
If you look closely, almost all of them are concentrated near the potions club.

Funny lions

Some funny and ridiculous moments in the implementation of tasks with statues :

1. Lion statues are either a lion or a lioness. The gender of the statue does not depend on the gender of the student.
The lions are voiced in the game by the voices of Slughorn and McGonagall (in the Russian version, all the intonations of Professor Slughorn are preserved).

2. In the Russian version the dialogs are expanded – for example, it is added that the badges were found in the girls’ toilet and on the top of the tower, in other versions there are no such details. And on the Suspension Bridge, the offending girl decided to count to 10 in the Russian version, while others count only to three.

3. In the case of protecting the badge, it turns out absurdity – the students do not allow their badge to be taken away because they really needed it themselves, but they are happy to give it to Harry Potter when no one else takes the badge away from them.

4. After Harry starts a duel, those students who are being protected disappear somewhere temporarily , and after the duel appear again.

5. When Harry carries a ready-made potion, there is no container with the brewed potion in his hands. No pitchers, such as in the plot part of the game – with rowan broth, or with a potion for Ginny – are shown.

6. With the potion brewed, you should immediately go back and give it to the student.
After loading a new story clip , the game “does not remember” that the player went with a brewed potion, and it will have to be brewed again. Also, you should not cook several potions at once, the game will not fix the previous ones.

7. During the game the models of the students change . Their clothes change. Having taken the task to brew a potion from one student, you can bring it to a differently dressed student. Gender and appearance remain unchanged.

8. Due to the fact that the patterns in the game are repeated, we can assume that we are protecting Angus Matlock, the captain of the Gryffindor Duel Club, at the lion on the Training Field. Couldn’t he protect himself?

And the captain of the Ravenclaw Duel Club Alanis – she offends another girl in the Main courtyard.

9. It is noteworthy that Hogwarts girls offend boys, and boys do not offend girls.
