S.M.A.R.T

RU EN +

S.M.A.R.T. – hard drive self-diagnosis system. If you periodically view this information, you can find out in advance when the hard drive starts to deteriorate and transfer your data to a new hard drive or other data storage in time. In this regard, we liked the “Status” tab of the free version of Defraggler, as it shows human-readable values.

Pay attention only to the “Attribute” and “Real Value” columns, as the other columns require special knowledge.
Pay special attention to the parameters >”Reassigned Sectors”, “Remap Events”, “Bad Sectors” – for a good hard disk, these parameters should be equal to “0”. If the values of any of them exceeded 10-20, then you need to make backup copies of your data, since the disk is already noticeably damaged. Usually such hard drives are retired – transferred to computers where nothing important is stored. There they can still work for a long time with infrequent repairs.
