Wands and Witches. Knowledge base

RU EN +

This page is dedicated to a game with a high age rating. In order not to shock the occasional young visitor here, we use only general wording.

General issues

Q. Where can I choose the type of relationship between characters? And can I change my choice?

A. The choice is made only once, on the train. Ginny asks you how you feel about the different types of relationships.

Q. How do I get through the game 100% in one passage?

A. You can’t. As some quests require your character to be of a certain gender and/or have a certain relationship preference. Some quests require a certain level of relationship with certain characters.

Q. Can I change my character’s gender?

A. Yes. But only once. Other characters may not accept your choice.

Q. Is there a linear storyline in this game?

A. The main plot events do not change, but your choice determines your character’s level of relationship with the others. For example, your character can have a relationship with one character, several characters, or none. Also, your actions in the game determine the ending of the story, as you can have a story ending that either repeats the ending from the books or changes it: completely or partially.

Q. What does the distributing hat’s decision depend on?

A. It all depends on your actions in Diagon Alley and the train.

Q. Does the game use random events?

A. Yes, characters can appear in locations with a certain degree of probability.

Q. What character parameters are required for successful learning?

A. Each academic discipline requires certain traits, but your choices are limited at the character setup stage. So your character can either have evenly developed features or better develop some features at the expense of others. For example, gain more intelligence, but worsen the athleticism parameter.

Q. What happens if my character breaks university rules? For example, walking the halls at night.

A. In addition to the Headmaster’s punishment, certain characters, skills and events may become available.

Q. What character parameters are important for success in the game?

A. All of them. A lot depends on which character you choose to build a relationship with. No one likes Nerja, so make sure you remember to take a shower. For some characters, your academic performance is important: in all or some subjects. Some students value expensive things.

Q. How can my character go to the dark side?

A. The dark side or the light side. It all depends on who you build a relationship with…

Q. What’s the time period in the game?

A. September 1 to December 31, 1999.

Q. Why did Hogwarts become a university?

A. According to the age limit chosen, it simply cannot remain a school: all characters are at least 18 years old (including Ginny and Astoria).

Q. Why 1999?

A. Ginny turned 18 on August 11, 1999.

Q. How do you play with cheat codes?

A. We don’t recommend doing this as gameplay can become unpredictable. But if you want to try it, use the Shift+O key combination. In the console that appears you can change the values of the variables. Some players also use the online save editor. A search engine to help you 😉

Q. Why the need for quests with this weird plant? And other such nonsense?

A. Gameplay depends on the player’s choices. So if the player behaves strangely, the game can offer them equally strange things.

Students

Q. Can my character have a relationship with all the students?

A. On a friendship level, with all main characters. A more complicated relationship is impossible for Rolf Scamander.

Q. How do I get the maximum level of relationship with Luna Lovegood?

A. Give her enough attention, get rid of the competition, prove to her that she’s the only one you want.

Q. How do you get the most out of a relationship with Hermione?

A. Study well, give her your best attention and help her in her endeavours.

Q. What should I do if I don’t want to start a relationship with Ginny or another character?

A. Just ignore him or her.

Q. Is it possible to maximise the relationship with Astoria?

A. Yes. But you’ll have to try hard.

Q. Is a relationship with Gossip Girl possible?

A. Long-term ones are impossible.

Q. Is there any way to get rid of Lavender Brown?

A. Attending Professor Snape’s classes might be helpful.

Q. Why don’t girls like this plant?
A. Imagine yourself in their shoes.

Q. Why does Ginny act like that???

A. Think back to her behaviour in the original work.

Teachers

Q. Which of the teachers might my character have a relationship with?

A. With Severus Snape. Nymphadora Tonks can only have a special lesson with you if you do something stupid. The other teachers haven’t been interested in the subject for a long time.

Q. How do I start a relationship with Severus Snape?

A. Give him as much attention as you can. The more of your attention he gets, the sooner he will notice you.

Q. Is it possible to have only a friendly relationship with Severus?

A. Yes. At any rate, when you visit him, you will have a choice.

Staff

Q. Is it possible to have a relationship with any of the university staff?

A. Only with the librarian.

Q. Are there house elves in the game?

A. You can meet them.

Other characters

Q. Is a relationship with Voldemort or Bellatrix possible?
A. They are unlikely.

Q. What about ghosts?

A. Even if they do take some hints, you may find another way to solve the problem. Or conversely, they may help with the solution.

Gringotts and finances

Q. What’s the point of making a contribution to Gringotts?

A. In case the goblins don’t fool you…

Q. Is it dangerous to take a loan from Gringotts?

A. If you do your studies well, it’s not dangerous.

Q. How can my character make money?

A. He needs to study well and visit Hogsmeade.
