System board

RU EN +

The motherboard, also known as the Motherboard, is the main board of a computer that electrically combines all its components: a microprocessor, RAM, video subsystem, sound subsystem, mouse and keyboard controllers, various data buses, drives hard drives and optical disks (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) and many others.

A lot depends on the motherboard:
– processor manufacturer (Intel, AMD) and a small number of its supported models;
– type and maximum amount of RAM (for example, for many non-gaming motherboards manufactured in 2002-2004, the limit is 2 GB of DDR1 RAM). It is unacceptable to use another type or a larger volume;
– the type of data bus drives for hard drives and optical disks (IDE, SATA-XX);
– the number of different sockets (ports) for connecting external devices;
– the number of sockets (ports) for connecting internal devices;
– the presence of a built-in video subsystem (integrated video card) and its features.
– it can take a long time to list 😉
